OPERATIONS INTERN
SPRING 2019: MID-JAN TO EARLY JUNE

The Company: Flag Star Football, founded in 2014, is one of the fastest growing leagues in the country. Sticking close to our core mission – Get Better. Have Fun – we’ve grown from 160 kids in 2014 to over 5000 program registrations in 2018.

The program is successful because, in short, we’re the best. Led by Flag Star’s founder, Carl Ehrlich -- former Harvard Football– we’re a team of hard-working, fun-loving, entrepreneurial-thinking, football-crazy people who care about the kids’ lives we touch.

And – as it turns out – doing good in our community also means doing well in our business. We’re looking for team members who want to do both.

The Internship: Interns will meet 2-3 times a week at company headquarters (Carl’s house in NW DC) and on one or both weekend days during our eight-week Spring season. Schedules can be flexible, but we expect interns to be locked in, working hard and “playing on their toes.”

Work will cover the full range of operations. There will be lots of time spent in direct programming, but day to day tasks will also range from website design to registration to staff training and community outreach. Interns will get a glimpse of a start-up company, and have the chance to work directly with the founder.

The Perfect Candidate: Has a great attention to detail. They take pride in their work and are ready to roll up their sleeves and take the time to do a project right. They’re people who pride themselves on being “lifetime learners,” thinking through problems and pro-actively anticipating future company demands.

They’re also, hopefully, fun-loving people. And okay with dogs. Our company is a close-knit group and we love that positive energy!

The Commitment/Compensation: I’m looking for an intern who’s ready to get the job done. It’s hard to set a concrete number of hours. We’re offering a $1250 stipend in the hopes of finding a hard-working, driven person who’s more interested in the work being done than the number of hours they work.

Next Steps: We believe in quality over quantity. As such, we’re looking to take on one – potentially two -- operation interns for the summer. Primarily, we’re looking for people who can be and are excited to be part of something great.

If you think you’re right for this job, please e-mail your cover letter and resume to Carl directly – carl@flagstarfootball.com. Look forward to speaking.
