GIRLS WINTER ELITE 26/27

This is the league we’ve been waiting for! Next-level football for next-level players.

While well within our values, Girls Elite is “more serious” than our Rec League. We have concentrated practices, intricate schemes and - generally speaking - we ask a lot of our players.

Our dream is to make this the premier Flag Football League for highly-skilled Girls, and we believe we’re on that path.

We also have a lot of fun. Girls Elite just keeps getting better and better.

Please reach out to sophie@flagstarfootball.com with any questions and let’s ball!

*PLAYING TIME IS NOT EQUAL IN ELITE and touches will not be evenly distributed. You earn your time on the field in Elite.*

PRACTICE PLAYERS:

Players who attend a tryout but are not selected for the initial game-day roster will be offered a Practice Player role. Practice Players are invited to participate in weekly team practices and group training sessions focused on skill development, speed, and overall game knowledge. As players grow and progress, coaches may invite Practice Players to join the game-day roster when they feel the player is ready.

FAQs

My child loves football, but isn’t the best player on her team, is it worth trying out?

Absolutely. When we make the teams, we account for how hard the player will work in practice, how much a team player they’ll be, and how much they really want to be there.

How will the practices be different than our regular flag star team?

The practices will be run more like a “traditional” football practice. Teams will work on individual position work, learning plays, running plays against a “scout team” and of course, conditioning. Games will be played on Sundays.

Who are the coaches?

Each team will be assigned one of our best Flag Star coaches. All Elite coaches have serious football resumes and know how to craft an offense and a defense worthy of an Elite program. Practices will be fun, but require hard work and focus.

My child wants to play with her friends. Can I make sure they are on the same team?

Friend groups are welcome to try out for the same team, and if it is possible to accommodate we will, but there is no guarantee of playing together.

My kid wants to play, but is nervous about not knowing anyone on the team. Will she enjoy it?

Absolutely. Elite brings kids together who all love football and being part of a team. In the Winter, teams bonded quickly and many kids made new friends through the program. If you love football, this is the place for you.
