Monica Leibovitz

Director of Development and Community Partnerships

I'm Monica, and I live in the Brookland neighborhood in NE DC with my husband, our very sporty son, our very musical daughter, and our dog. I spent more than a decade working in politics before I pivoted to community development. I have a deep love for direct, local mission-driven work and absolutely love working for the Flag Star Foundation. My game day motto is "I just hope both teams have fun!"

I was a Flag Star mom for years before I worked here. I know that Flag Star can be the most positive, most important thing in a kid’s week — whether they win or lose. Youth sports matter, and providing a kind, joyful environment with top-notch coaching and leadership — well, there are just so many kids who NEED that. I absolutely love that we give all kids an opportunity to be a part of Flag Star, regardless of financial need
