Sam Appel
Director of Elite / Director of Showcase
My name is Sam, and I'm Director of Flag's Star Elite program, as well as our Showcase program. I'm a football lifer, having first strapped up the pads at 9 years old, and continued to play through my senior year at Kenyon College. I grew up in Arlington, and I'm a die-hard Commanders fan.
I've been a full-time member of Flag Star's Executive Team for five years now, and I believe in the power of football. It teaches kids to work together towards a common goal, and serves as a constant reminder these kids are stronger than they realize.
When I'm not coaching / FlagStarring, I'm hanging with my amazing wife Elizabeth, my friends, my family, and my brand new puppy Dewey.
