My favorite Coach was my middle school Football coach and they taught me that the best teams are tough and persevere through hard times if you want to be a champion

My best friend i met through sports is Caleb Morris!

My most cringe worthy moment in sports was fumbling the snap because I wasn't paying attention during a playoff middle school game. We almost gave the other team the ball back to score the game winning touchdown. I learned to always pay attention and to focus on the little details if I want to win!

What’s your most cringe-worthy sports moment / biggest failure:

About 2 years ago I was playing quarterback in a Flagstar game. I was being blitzed hard and had just taken a sack the previous play to push the team back onto our goal line. On second down I am blitzed hard and in a panic throw the ball out the back of the endzone. I might be the only person in the history of Flagstar to throw a safety.

What are your off-field interests/hobbies:

Video Games. I play a lot of video games.

 I heard about it from my friend and i really love being around kids and making them feel like they are on the top of the world. the most important value that I share with the kids is to be a great teammate all the time because then everyone will have fun.

My team was down 3 points in our playoff basketball game, and I hit an insane 3 pointer to tie the game up with 10 seconds left. But I got so caught up celebrating with my team that the other team in bounded the ball and ran down the court and scored an easy layup winning the playoff game, and knocking out my team, the 1 seed. 

What are your off-field interests/hobbies:

Singing and Watching Basketball

Flag Star is a great environment to be around. Throughout out the years the organization has shown me steps to be a greater human being in all aspects of life.

What’s the most important value to share with/teach the kids:

You win some you lose some, but you live, you live to fight another day.

Every game is going to have a winner and loser, just because you lost doesn’t make you a loser

I felt like such a boss when they played this song as we came out the tunnel during a Junior Pee Wee football championship game

Favorite Sports Movie:

Like Mike, I thought this movie was so real that I stood out in a thunderstorm and tried to see if my shoes would get struck by lighting just like in the movie…. That gives me a thought, be right back (maybe)

Who was your childhood sports hero:

My childhood sports hero was Lebron James because of the way he carries himself on and off the court. Tried to mimic his style of play on the court, but didn’t work out too great haha 

Who was your favorite youth coach and what did he/she teach you:

My favorite youth coach was Coach Brandon because he taught me how to be tough on the football field and would always challenge my knowledge of the sport. He molded me into a student of the game and I look forward to doing the same for young adults for centuries to come!

Best friend, that’s a tough one but I’ll go with my cousin Lynn

What’s your most cringe-worthy sports moment / biggest failure

My biggest failure to me is not living up to my full potential, basketball and football wise! I know deep down I could have done more with the time I had and if I showed a lot more dedication and focus to those sports who knows where I would’ve ended up! But we learn from those experiences and if I see a kid in similar shoes as me I speak up and let them know not to waste their time because this could be “there way out”

What are your off-field interests/hobbies:

I really really enjoy Biking and Rollerblading. It’s a great workout that’s so much fun. You’ll never know where you may end up.

I also play pickup basketball whenever I get the chance, it’s awesome

During my first ever football game in 3rd grade, I was running for a touchdown and tripped at the two yard line.

I scored on the wrong basket in a crucial 4th grade basketball game. Needless to say, MAKE SURE you know what hoop is designated for your team to make buckets!

Joe Burrow because unfortunately my college career didn’t go well, so most of my biggest sports memories were with him. 

What’s your most cringe-worthy sports moment / biggest failure:

We played St. Vincent St. Mary’s in the state semis my junior year... I had the worst half I’ve had in sports with a fumble and multiple drops. I ended up leading us in receptions that game and caught the game winning touchdown to send us to the state championship game. My position coach at halftime asked my OC in front of me if we should bench me in the second half and the OC said “no way. You’re good right Z.” I said yes and really just locked in.

It allows me to reach out to the youth and help them excel in football. It also allows me to help teach them the characteristics that football builds that will help them in life.

Hard work. It might seem like a usual answer. However; no matter what happens in the game, they should always give their all and try their hardest. Hard work is the way you separate yourself from others

My favorite youth coach was my flag football coach when I was younger. Mr. Rifken taught me to play hard, and not be afraid of different obstacles you might face.

Who’s the best friend you made through sports:

I met most of my great friends through sports. Collin, Ben, and Jack who live in another state, but I still talk to each of them daily.

What’s your most cringe-worthy sports moment / biggest failure:

My most embarrassing moment was in Basketball in 6th grade were I missed 1 out of 2 free throws in the last seconds. Which eventually lost the game for my team. That moment was really tough on me. But, was a building block to the player I am now. Adversity, and challenges only helps build you back up.

What are your off-field interests/hobbies:

My hobbies are fishing, going to Bethesda with friends, and listening to a lot of different types of music.

Coach Rod, he taught me that the last play already happened and that there is nothing that I can do in the future to change it, so don’t waste time thinking about it.

What’s your most cringe-worthy sports moment / biggest failure:

During my freshman year of college, my basketball team made it to the conference championship and we were playing against a team that we had already beat twice that season.  My team and I went into the game thinking that this was going to be an easy win because, well, we beat them twice before.  Y’all, we lost!  The lesson that I learned from that situation is that you should give your all in every game that you play.
